Richard Francis Ekja “Rich”, 92 of Chicago Garfield Ridge formerly of the Bridgeport neighborhood, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon February 8th at LaGrange Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Helen for over 40 years. Loving father of Sandy (Joe) Zumerling. Dearest Grandfather of Joseph R. Zumerling (Stephany) and Lauren M. Zumerling. Beloved Great Grandfather of Joseph Raymond Zumerling. Proceeded in death, by his parents, Martha and Rudolph Ejka. Dear brother of Benjamin, Frank, John, and Donald (Nancy).  Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Monday, February 12, 2018 from 3 to 9 PM at the Palos Gaidas Funeral Home, 11028 South Southwest Highway (7700 West) Palos Hills Illinois 60465. 6:30 PM Chapel Service with Rev. Father Joseph Mol officiating. Funeral 9:30 AM Tuesday morning, February 13, 2018 at the Funeral home to St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery for Rite of Christian Burial.
