With hearts full of love and gratitude, we sadly announce the passing of Phyllis LePore Faulstich, who, following a courageous battle with multiple myeloma and dementia, took her final bow — peacefully and gracefully — on May 27, 2026, at the age of 84. A woman of faith, strength, and courage, she lived a full and beautiful life surrounded by a circle of devoted friends and an adoring family.
Phyllis was the cherished daughter of the late Anthony “Uppy” and the late Sylvia (née Cialdella) LePore. She was also preceded in death by her best friend and sister, Roseann M. LePore. Her boundless love will forever live on in the hearts of her adored children, Todd and Nicole (Jenn); her brother Michael LePore (Nancy) and their children: Ken (Sheri), Patty, Bob, and Tony (Kristin).
Phyllis excelled in academics, serving as valedictorian of the Class of 1964 at Blue Island (now Eisenhower) High School before attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After her collegiate years, she joined KPMG (formerly Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co.) as an executive assistant and later held various office management roles, as well as retail careers at JCPenney and Carson Pirie Scott and Company.
An avid card player and enthusiastic participant in bunco and bingo, Phyllis had a lucky streak and relished the occasional scratch-off lottery ticket. Later in life, she discovered a love of knitting, gifting handmade shawls to those in need of comfort.
Her devotion to the Catholic faith was evident in her dedication to Sacred Heart Parish and her involvement in numerous clubs and committees there. Beyond her faith, Phyllis was known for her warm smile, her ready sense of humor, and a generous heart that was always open to those in need. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family and friends will gather for visitation at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home (11028 Southwest Hwy., Palos Hills, Illinois 60465) on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass at Sacred Heart Parish. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip, Illinois.
