Penny Lambrini

Lambrini “Penny” Papangelis, age 59, passed away on Sunday August 14, 2022. Born in Chicago on November 3, 1962, she was raised in Northfield, IL and was a graduate of New Trier West High School. She graduated cum laude from Harvard University in 1984 and received 2 master’s degrees in Public Health and Library Sciences. She was a tenured Associate Professor at Western Kentucky University. Penny was a very smart renaissance woman who excelled in everything she did. She was a very social and charitable person who loved music, singing, languages, laughing, and the company of others. She will be missed but will live forever in our memories. Beloved daughter of the late George and Maria Papangelis. She is survived by her brother, Peter Papangelis, and sister, Christina (Keith) Hendricks. Visitation will be Friday, August 19 at 12:00pm at the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home 11028 South Southwest Highway, Palos Hills, IL, followed by a gravesite service at Evergreen Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL.
