Odilia F. “Dee” Fantozzi

Odilia F. “Dee” Fantozzi, lovingly known as “Nana,” passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026, in Chicago Ridge, Illinois, at the age of 79. She was born on August 20, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois.

Dee was the beloved wife of the late Richard Fantozzi, who preceded her in death in 2021. She was the loving mother of Deanna Santangelo (Mike Santangelo) and Maria McGreal, and the sweetest Nana to her grandchildren, Riley McGreal, Faith Santangelo and Stephanie Santangelo.

Dee had a lifelong love for animals, especially dogs. She spent many years showing and breeding Labrador Retrievers and had special pets throughout every stage of her life. Her love and compassion for animals were a beautiful reflection of the loving person she was.

To her family, Dee was the best mom and the sweetest Nana. She filled their lives with love, warmth, laughter, and countless memories that will be cherished forever. She will be deeply missed, and their hearts ache knowing they must continue without her.

Yet, alongside the heartache is comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain and is finally at peace. Her strong spirit, her love, and everything she gave to her family will stay with them forever. Though she may no longer be beside them, she will always be a part of them in their hearts, in their memories, and in the love they share.

Her family will forever cherish the memories of their Nana and carry her love with them wherever they go.
