It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael C. McMichael Jr., who left us on October 2, 2026, just four days before his 37th birthday. Michael was a son, father, brother, partner, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was a complicated, unforgettable, deeply loved person who touched the lives of many. Michael was the beloved father of Zoey Patricia McMichael. He was the cherished son of Susan Barnes and the late Michael McMichael Sr.  Stepson to Jimmie Moore. He was the only brother of Melinda McMichael. Michael was a beloved uncle to Kavon Birk, Mikylah Birk, Kyron Birk Jr., Trevion Noble, Micah Kyriak-Lopez, and Michael McMichael. He was a nephew of Robert Mason, Mathew McMichael, and the late Chancy DeNormandy and Dorothy Mason. Godson to Kenneth Jackson. He was the beloved partner of Sarah Rafferty. He was also a cousin to many and a friend to countless others whose lives he touched. Michael was many things to many people—funny, protective, strong, sensitive, stubborn, unpredictable, wise, and unforgettable. He carried his own struggles and his own pain, but he also carried a love for the people who mattered to him. His life was not defined by any one moment or circumstance. He was a human being who laughed, loved, hurt, fought, made mistakes, showed strength, and left memories that will remain with those who knew him. He was loved. He is missed. And he will never be forgotten. May Michael finally find the peace he searched for in this life. Rest peacefully, Michael.
