Lisa Leckie Huhn, 53, of Orland Park, passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 4, 2025. Her family and friends are devastated by her loss and feel she left this world far too soon.
Lisa was born on December 26, 1971, at Little Company of Mary Hospital to Charles and Kathleen Leckie.
Lisa worked many jobs throughout her life, but being a mother was where she excelled. She was free-spirited, kind, and incredibly genuine. She always stood up for people she loved and protected them with passion. She listened without judgment, cared without hesitation, and always seemed to know when someone needed comfort. She had a way of making people feel safe, understood, and loved. Her warmth and her presence will be missed more than words can express.
Lisa is survived by her four children, Daniel, Joseph, Madeline, and Kaitlyn Huhn; her parents, Charles and Kathleen Leckie; and her brothers, Anthony and Joseph Leckie. She will be deeply missed by everyone who loved her.
Lisa lived with an open heart, a strong will, and a spirit that was impossible not to love. Though her time was cut short, the love she gave will stay with her family and friends forever.
A memorial visitation to honor Lisa’s life will be held on Monday, December 22nd from 11:00 a.m. until time of service, 1:00 p.m., at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home in Palos Hills. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate her beautiful unforgettable spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to NAWS Humane Society in Lisa’s honor. As an avid animal lover, we believe this is a more authentic way to honor her memory.
A message from her children:
“We weren’t ready to say goodbye to our mom. Losing her so suddenly has left such an empty space in our lives. She taught us so much; about love, strength, and how to be ourselves, but we know she still had so much more she wanted to share with us. There were still things she wanted to show us and moments we were meant to have with her. She was the person we could always turn to, the one who understood us without us having to say a word. She was our comfort, our guide, and our favorite person. We will miss her every day, and we’ll carry her love with us for the rest of our lives.”
