Lavonne M. “Bonnie” Neubauer (nee Reding), age 93 of Chicago Ridge.
Beloved wife of the late William F. Neubauer.
Loving mother of Cindy (Paul) Ferrara, the late William (Pat) Neubauer, Thomas (Denise) Neubauer, Jeffery (Claire) Neubauer, James (Mary) Neubauer and John (Sharon) Neubauer.
Cherished grandmother of 16 and great grandmother of 24.
Dear sister of the late Lois Heinisch (the late Edward), the late Carol Jean Murray (the late Jack), the late Robert Reding (the late Florence) and Richard Reding (the late Anne).
Bonnie was born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa to Carrol and Mildred Reding on February 5,1932. She married William Neubauer of Chicago on July 2,1949. They spent most of their married life in Chicago Ridge and raised 6 children there. Bonnie's most cherished job was being a Stay-at-Home Mom and taking care of her family. Feeding a family of 8 took some important planning and a lot of grocery shopping. If chicken was on the menu for dinner, it required 3 whole chickens. Vacations at this time were to one place only, Dubuque Iowa to visit Grandma and Grandpa and all the other relatives. So, all 6 kids were piled into a Station Wagon along with a lot of food, snacks and clothing. The whole family always slept over at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
After some of the older children left home and got married, Bonnie and Bill traveled to lots of other destinations. Their favorite trip was to Hawaii with several other couples. Bonnie was a nervous wreck getting on that plane, but she did it and she sure was glad. She loved Hawaii and shared many favorite stories. Then later in life Bonnie found that she truly enjoyed a bit of gambling. They visited casinos nearby and also in Dubuque and Davenport where her family still lived. She would get a thrill just to win even a small amount. Bonnie's happiest times were at family gatherings especially with all the Grandchildren and Great children. Christmas Eve was the most meaningful and it was a night like no other. Bonnie and Bill could not stop laughing and smiling just like the rest of us!
