Visitation for Kathleen will take place Sunday December 3rd at Palos Gaidas Funeral Home, 11028 South Southwest Highway Palos Hills Illinois from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Friends and family will meet for prayers Monday morning 9:30AM at the funeral home and then proceed to St. Linus Church, 10300 Lawler Ave, Oak Lawn Illinois, for the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Kathleen will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Kathleen Rohe (née Conway) 83, of Chicago Ridge passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, November 22, with her family by her side. Kay is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Donald Rohe, and her four beloved children: Marikay (Vito) Piazza, Donald (Tracy) Rohe, Karen (Tommy) Bucina, and Tom Rohe. Loving grandmother of Jack and Kelly Piazza, Meghan, Kaitlin and Jillian Rohe, Sadie Bucina, and Phoebe and Fiona Rohe. Fond aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Kay was born in Chicago, August 31st, 1940 and grew up in the Visitation Parish. She was the daughter of Francis and Agnes Conway, and younger sister to Mary A. (Robert) Mandernach, who predeceased her. Kay graduated from Visitation High School before attending St. Bernard’s School of Nursing to become an RN. She had a career as an emergency room nurse, and as an inspector for the Illinois department of Public Health. After marrying Don in 1964, they lived in Carbondale for a time before moving back to the Chicago area and eventually settling in Chicago Ridge where they raised their family.She loved being a Rohe “outlaw” and spending time laughing, working, and laughing some more at their cottage in Delavan with family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time with friends from throughout her life. Kay was devoted to her family and loved being grandma to her eight grandchildren, attending recitals, plays, graduations, enthusiastically cheering on teams, cherishing all of their achievements, no matter the size, with a sparkle in her laugh and a smile on her face. She was a rock, a cornerstone to her family, kind, selfless, faithful, a good friend to many and will be missed dearly. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to American Cancer Society.
