Jose Apolinar Campos Romero, age 77, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on January 8, 1949, in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, Jose was the beloved son of Pascual Campos and Luz Maria Campos Romero. From humble beginnings, he built a life defined by perseverance, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Jose was a devoted and loving husband to Angelita Campos. He was a proud and dedicated father to Balvina (Eddie) Ranney, Elizabeth (Larry) Orsini, Pascual L. ( Angelica ) Campos, Jose Campos Jr., and Elizabeth (Saul) Corral. He was a cherished grandfather to the late Xavier, Priscilla, Crystal, Genesis, Pascual, Saul Jr., Penelope, and Jayden.
He was also a dear brother to Late Rosalba, Late Juan Manuel, Martelia, Hector, Artemio, Lola, Maritzza, and Saul; Uncle of many nieces and nephews.
A hardworking and determined man, Jose took great pride in providing for his family. Through long hours, personal sacrifice, and tireless effort, he created a stable and loving home for those he loved most. He believed in earning everything through honest work and carried himself with dignity, strength, and quiet resilience. His life was a testament to selflessness—always putting his family first and working tirelessly to ensure his children and grandchildren had every opportunity to succeed.
Jose was known for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and steady presence. He led by example, teaching the value of responsibility, respect, and perseverance. His love was constant, his guidance unwavering, and his legacy lives on through the family he worked so hard to support.
He will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
