Genevieve Pivoris

September 3, 1920 — December 27, 2022

Genevieve Rose Pivoris passed away peacefully on December 27, 2022. She lived a very full life to 102 years of age. She was born in Roseland, IL on September 3, 1920. At six months of age her parents returned to Lithuania with her and her siblings. Because she was an American citizen, she had free passage to the U.S. in 1939. Her sister Salomia and her ended up by their cousin in Brighton Park which is a neighborhood in Chicago, IL. She belonged to a Lithuanian dance group and met her late husband Bruno there. She lived in Marquette Park to be near Holy Cross Hospital where she worked in the Kitchen and Midland Savings Bank where she worked as a custodian. She moved to New Lenox, IL to live with her daughter and son-in-law for the last 10 years. At 100 years old she got COVID but survived it making her slow down quite a lot. She was always helping anyone she could to make their lives easier. She was a great cook and loved to play pinocle and skipo usually being the winner. She was an amazing loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by daughter Gerry, son-in-law Dennis Davis. Son Lenny Pivoris and daughter-in-law Jeanne. Grandsons Mark Laurence, Matthew Laurence and wife Gladys, Eric Pivoris and wife Becca. Great-grandchildren A.J. and Naomie Laurence and step grandchildren Dennis Davis, Jr. Kim Ryan and Mike Davis and wife Abbey. Step grandchildren Collin, Caitlyn, Courtney Ryan, Dalia and Dakota Davis and step great-grandchildren Jack and Cora Davis. Family and friends will gather for visitation on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. at Nativity BVM Church, 69th and Washtenaw, Chicago. Interment St. Casimir Lithuanian Cemetery.
