Evelyn McGuire

d. November 29, 2020

Evelyn Ann Nadine McGuire passed away peacefully at home after a 7 year battle with FTD/PPA. Loving wife of John and sister of Vivian (Louis) Kulekowskis. Evelyn was the daughter of Walter and Rose (Ulaszek) Zdon. Her love of art was expressed through drawing, painting, pen and ink, pastels, calligraphy, and a myriad of other mediums. Her styles ranged from classical to steam punk. Ev also enjoyed crafting through window, glass, and vase painting, creating holiday ornaments, jewelry making, card making, papier-maché, stamping, punching, and felting. Evelyn loved traveling and experiencing new cultures and cuisines. City tours, architectural tours, ghost tours, historic sites, natural landscapes, museums, folkloric presentations, and of course shopping were in the itinerary when visiting new places. Her favorite times were spent with friends and family. Professionally Evelyn was a special education teacher in the south suburbs before teaching in Los Angeles. She then came home to become a computer programmer/systems analyst and getting an MBA. Evelyn eventually returned to special education as a teacher at CPS before retiring. Always kind, humorous, giving, and caring she exemplified what a good person should be. The world is greatly diminished with her passing. She will be truly missed. There will be no funeral or service. A memorial service will be held once things open up again. To remember Evelyn please donate to either of these organizations to help find a cure for this heinous disease.
