Dennis Mc Carthy

Dennis G. McCarthy, 81, of Bonita Springs, FL passed peacefully on September 9, 2021 at Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice. He was born on December 29, 1939 in Chicago, IL son of the late Patrick and Winifred (Nelson) McCarthy. Dennis was raised in Chicago and it was there he met the love of his life, Karen Sue Powers. They would have shared their 61 st anniversary on October 1st. He loved being in love and getting married, so much that he and Karen “Sue” renewed their vows three times. Dennis was very passionate about his work and shared that passion with his sons. Working over 40 years in the Automotive Industry, he was the owner of Creative Studio and Auto Specialists, providing vehicles, props and stunt vehicles for over 400 films, TV shows and commercials before moving to Bonita Springs to open D & S Gallery with his wife, Karen Sue, providing art and custom framing for 20 years. Dennis was a man of many talents, doing remodeling projects for family and friends until the end. He was known for his humor and love of telling tales of his adventures to all and was loved by many. He will be missed but never forgotten. Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Karen Sue McCarthy; sons, James Patrick (Susen) McCarthy and Michael Dennis (Vickie) McCarthy; grandchildren, Jenny (John) Melander, Ashley (Dan) Steiskal, Megan (Tony Martinez) McCarthy, Michael Dennis Jr. (Jennifer) McCarthy and Alec (Dorian) McCarthy; and 8 great- grandchildren. Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Mass Saturday, October 2, 2021 11:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church, Palos Hills followed by a Memorial Visitation 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home 11028 Southwest Hwy.
