Danute Puodziunas

Dana (“Donata”) Puodziunas, age 90, of Lockport, previously of Chicago. Devoted wife of the late Raymond (“Ramojus”) Puodziunas, sister of the late Vince Izokaitis, the late John Izokaitis and the late Ramona Prapuolenis. Mother of Victor and Steven Puodziunas, grandmother to Jurgis, Vaiva, Algis, Erikas, Tomas, Lina and Ryte. Dana was born in the town of Ilguva, Lithuania in 1932 and emigrated to the United States as a teenager. She was an active member of the Lithuanian community, participating in Dainava choir, Lithuanian Scouts, and taught at the Lithuanian Montessori school and Saturday school in Marquette Park. She also worked at KASA credit union, Draugas Lithuanian Press, and the United Lithuanian Relief Fund of America (“BALFas”). She loved to sing and be with friends and family. She loved children, especially her grandchildren. Visitation will be on Monday, August 29th at Palaimintas Jurgis Matulaitis Lithuanian Mission in Lemont, IL from 9:00am-10:00am, with the funeral mass to follow. She will be laid to rest in St. Casimir Lithuanian Cemetery. Velione buvo a.a. Ramojaus žmona ir a.a.Vinco, a.a Jono ir a.a Ramintos vyriausia sesuo. Giliai liudi: sunus Viktoras Puodziunas su zmona Vida, sunus Stepas Puodziunas su zmona Zivile, anukai Jurgis, Vaiva, Algis, Erikas, Tomas, Lina ir Ryte.Danute buvo ilgamete skaute, Dainavos ansamblio narė, mokytoja montessori ir lituanistineje mokykloje, dirbo KASA kredito unijoje, Drauge ir BALFe (United Lithuanian Relief Fund of America). Danute mėgo dainuoti ir su draugais pasijuokti. Labiausiai, ji mylejo vaikus, ypac savo anukelius. Kvieciame gimines, draugus ir pazistamus dalyvauti laidotuvese. Atsisveikinimas su velione vyks pirmadieni, rugpjucio 29d, 9:00-10:00 ryto Palaiminto Jurgio Matulaicio misijoje, kur 10:00 vyks laidotuves. Po Misiu, velione bus palaidota Sv. Kazimiero kapinese.
