Aukse Kane

Aukse Kane (nee Balciauskas) age 79, formerly of the Beverly neighborhood. She was the devoted daughter of Birute Briedis (Zaremba) and Juozas Balciauskas, who passed away when she was very young, and stepdaughter to Juozas Briedis. Treasured mother of Sylvia (Mark) Lopatka and Peter (Sharon) Kane and grandmother to Anastasia Lopatka. Loving sister to Mindaugas (Ramute) Balciauskas, Birute (John) Martino, and Rima (Linas) Sidrys. She was loved by many cousins, nieces, and nephews across the country and as far away as Switzerland. She will be remembered as a favorite babysitter to many and the epitome of a selfless caregiver. She and her former husband, Kevin Kane, remained dedicated to raising their children and being a part of their granddaughter’s life together. She loved sunsets, trees, singing, and to dance, even helping out with the Knights of Lithuania folk dance group for many years. No matter how many things in her life challenged her, she remained positive. She had a child-like spirit and a smile that lit up the room that will continue to do so through the family who knew and loved her

Family and friends will gather for visitation Saturday 10:00 a.m. until time 12:00 p.m. at the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home 11028 Southwest Hwy. Palos Hills, IL 60465. Interment St. Casimir Lithuanian Cemetery
