Adele Marie Benck
Born on Nov 29, 1928, Adele peacefully passed away on Sat May 24. Her husband Henry, Sister Agnes Mrakovic and daughter Barbra (Padberg) Benck preseded her. She is survived by her sons Paul (Nancy), David (Tiina Ruus), James (Suzanne) and Steve (Brenda Blohm). Her twelve grandchildren, their partners, and four great-grandchildren. She loved her big family, her friends and community. She had a passion for creating positive change, which was showcased through activism through and volunteerism having received a Studs Terkel Award, and was a founding member of the Worth library, Care-Of-The-Earth and the Worth Historical Museum. Together with Henry and so many loved ones along the way, she traveled the world to discover and experience new things, with some of her most special times being spent in New Zealand, Cancun and Lake Mills, Wis. With a life spanning nearly a century, she touched many with her vibrant personality and unmatched zeal for life.
Services will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 8245 W 111th St, Palos Hills Il 60465. Visitation at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, June 21 9:00 AM with a mass to follow at 10:00AM. Internment will be at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery 6001 W 111th St, Alsip IL
