Henry Fortier

Henry Joseph Fortier, age 88 of Chicago passed peacefully on June 25, 2015. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Dawn. Loving father of Lesley (Jim) Jercich, Dr. Glen (Michelle), Jill (Rick) Engel, Dr. Paul (Susan), Gary (Melissa), Philip (Moira), Dennis (Cindy) and Christopher (Heidi). Dear grandfather of Jack, Tori, Buck, Beau, Bailey, Blake, Regina, Thomas, Matthew, Erin, Anna, Caitlin, Alec, Declan, Una Rose, Dean, Everett, Connor and Dana. Hank was a structural engineer for Ceco Corporation for 35 years. He was an active volunteer in his church, community, and his children's activities, whether it was sports, band or school. After retiring to Ft. Myers, Florida, his last 20 years were spent travelling and enjoying spending time with family and friends. His generous spirit continued including work with Meals on Wheels and his retirement community. Hank's heart was filled with love for his family. Memorial visitation 9-10AM, Thursday, July 2nd at Sacred Heart Church, 8245 W. 111th St. (Palos Hills) followed by a Memorial Mass at 10AM. Interment private.
